PYROTEX® FIBER
Improved
PyroTex is a specialty fiber developed for extreme operating conditions. It is manufactured in two different specifications:
PyroTex classic for use in flame- and heat-resistant products, and PyroTex medic for the medical and hygiene sectors.
PyroTex classic boasts extremely high flame resistance (LOI 43%) combined with high insulation performance (0.03 W/mK). For us, these two properties absolutely belong together. Furthermore, the fiber does not melt and does not emit toxic gases.
PyroTex medic exhibits excellent properties against viruses, bacteria, and fungi. Even dangerous viruses such as SARS-CoV-2, H3N2, and multi-resistant bacteria such as Klebsiella pneumoniae and MRSA can no longer be detected on the fiber after a very short time.
The properties of PyroTex fiber types are always permanent, meaning they do not diminish over time or through cleaning processes.

Background
The fiber was specifically developed by PyroTex Industries because it became apparent that the fibers available up to that point could never be fully utilized. Initially, the focus was on heat and flame protection, with PyroTex classic becoming increasingly popular in a wide variety of sectors due to its superior properties.
The PyroTex research team then shifted its focus to germ protection and was able to set another milestone in safety with the development of PyroTex medic.
